BIBLE STUDIES/ DISCIPLESHIP
At First Woodway, we not only want every person to come to know Jesus, but to grow as a “fully developing follower of Christ.” Discipleship is the process of spiritual growth that enables us to be like Jesus. In fact, the word “disciple” means learner, or literally, “one who follows.”
We believe that discipleship is both an intentional and relational process. For example, Jesus invited those first disciples to “come and see” him and to spend time with him. This method of discipleship allowed his followers to not just know facts about Jesus, but to know him and his teaching in a personal way.
Our desire is to provide studies that encourage us to grow in knowledge of God (Bible/Theology), intimacy with God (Discipleship Essentials), and relationally with the world (Faith in Action).
Our summer schedule typically offers fewer options than the fall and spring, but do provide a great way to grow this summer. Our summer options are through our Midweek Bible Studies and are offered on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 PM. For a complete list of classes see below...

Breaking Free (Updated Edition) - By Beth Moore
Based on Isaiah 61, Beth's latest release includes 11 new video teaching messages taped at Franklin Avenue Baptist Church in New Orleans last November. This in-depth Bible study draws parallels between the captive Israelites and today's believers. Not only are the videos new, but the Bible study has also been reedited with testimonies of how women like you have found freedom and have been delivered from their personal captivity will make this a study you can't miss. This is a ladies only study starting on Wednesday, June 2 @ 6 PM!

Dogma - Led by Michael Criner
This study was originally presented as a series in College Hour, but has been revised for all adults on Wednesday nights this summer. The series will focus on 6-8 core doctrinal issues that will encourage, challenge, and equip you for spiritual growth. A great co-ed option for midweek Bible study! Dogma starts on Wednesday, June 9 @ 6 PM.
