Haiti Relief Challenge

We have all been profoundly touched by the terrible loss of life and the widespread destruction caused by the recent earthquake in Haiti. Most, if not all of us, want to reach out to the people of Haiti and personalize the caring love of God to them. The most urgent need now is financial. There will come a time, hopefully in the near future, when we can send teams of volunteers to help with the recovery, but we want to respond to their need now. To help us do that, we are challenging the members of First, Woodway to sacrificially give to the Haiti Relief Fund with the Church matching our gifts up to $100,000. If we meet our goal, we will be sending a total of $200,000 to the Christian agencies that we believe can make the greatest lasting impact on the Haitian people. We assure you that your gifts will go to organizations that have a proven track record of integrity and effectiveness.

Because we are such a blessed people and church it is imperative that we set an example of generosity and offer leadership in this critical time. I hope you will join me in praying that these days of crisis in Haiti will become days of healing, recovery and blessing, and that Jesus Christ might be glorified in all that is done. The need is urgent so may we respond quickly to this Challenge.
