At the heart of the Christian canon are the four books we call "the Gospels." These writings narrate for us the life, ministry, teachings, death, and ressurrection of Jesus of Nazareth. The church from the beginning has insisted on four Gospels instead of just one, so we will study the Gospels broadly, listening to the distinctive voice of each one, and seeking to be formed by the life of their subject.

The church at Corinth was anything but perfect. They were plated in a city that was famous for its wealth, intellectual pride, religious diversity, and moral laxity. These issues also emerged in the church and threatened the unity and effectiveness of believers. The words of the Apostle Paul bring great clarity to how the gospel touches every aspect of our life. Join us for this eleven week journey through the book of First Corinthians.

James: Mercy Triumphs is the latest study from beloved author and speaker Beth Moore. In this 8 week study, Moore provides an in-depth look at the short New Testament book written by Jesus' own brother. James started out as a skeptic, but see how one glimpse of the resurrected Savior turned an unbeliever into a disciple. Bible scholars compare James to the prophet Amos. In other ways, James more closely resembles the Book of Proverbs than any other New Testament book. Topics in this study include: joy, hardship, faith, reversal of fortunes for rich and poor, wisdom, gifts from above, single-mindedness, the dangers of the tongue, humility, and prayer.

What do these parts of the body have to do with our spiritual growth and service to the Lord? When priests in the Old Testament were consecrated for service in the temple, the ceremony involved a blood sacrifice and the marking of the priests' ears, thumbs and big toes. These seemingly insignificant and less attractive parts of the body play an important role for those who would follow Christ completely. If you are seeking God's purpose for your life or desire a closer walk with him, come find out how you can engage your ears, your thumbs and your big toes to strengthen your commitment to His plan.
This six week study, based on the concept of the priesthood of believers, will examine verses throughout the Bible that inspire and challenge us to dedicate every part of our being to our highest calling in Christ.

Come, join us and enjoy an in-depth examination of the Apostle John and his first epistle to the church.
Most us have an idea or image in our minds of what John was like. This is likely typical of most people, but in reality the image that most people have might not be anything close to what he was really like. First John gives us insight into this area. John was anything but the meek character portrayed in many of the Medieval Era paintings with which many people are familiar.
The character of John is fully illuminated in this epistle. We learn he is really the kind of man that is sorely needed for the issues that confront Christianity today. His writing is bold, direct and authoritative. He is committed to absolutes. He is "black and white". He has been called a very exclusive preacher in a very inclusive time. Today's Christian is able to relate to that statement.
John makes several salient points in First John, but two are made with such clarity and force that they are inescapable, even to the casual reader. They are truth and love.....truth and love! These two have been described as inseparable, essential, and irreplaceable. In this epistle we get an unadulterated view of truth and love. In addition, the reader of the epistle finds three things that God wants every Christian to have in their lives: Joy, holiness and assurance.
John gives the answer to the question that most Christians have likely asked themselves at some point in time: How can I be sure?
